It has one feature the English and French super cups do not: it is not played on neutral ground but at the champions' stadium. That changes the evening for the viewer, because there is a proper club crowd, its stands and its songs, instead of a ground split in two. The champions also arrive with a quiet advantage: in Belgium the title is settled in play-offs, where the regular-season points are halved and the leading clubs meet again. They come out of a month of high-stakes soccer, while their opponents may have won their cup weeks earlier. Kick-off is early evening, central European time.
