🇵🇹 Portuguese Super Cup: TV channel, kick-off times and live streaming in the US

The Portuguese Super Cup opens the season: a single match between the champions and the Portuguese Cup winners, played in late July or early August. It carries a name few people can read at a glance: Supertaça Cândido de Oliveira, after a Portuguese coach and sports journalist who was arrested and deported for resistance activity during the Second World War. No other super cup in Europe is named after someone outside the clubs that contest it, and that is worth saying once. The match is played on neutral ground, often in a mid-sized city, which takes it out of the two or three stadiums where most of Portuguese soccer is decided. If the champions also won the cup, the beaten finalist takes their place. For the viewer it is the first competitive match of the year: new signings starting, the pecking order still open, a trophy in ninety minutes.
